James Spector was struck by the Wild Card Virus in 1985; he died while on route to Doctor Tachyon‘s Jokertown Clinic. An experimental procedure brought Spector back from the dead.
Spector discovered that recalling his own death would cause the death of anyone he made eye contact with.
