Derek Petrie joined the Shadow Captains when requested to by Albion (an alternative universe version of Captain Britain) The Shadow Captains and Excalibur fought, but Derek spent most of the battle under the possession of Excalibur’s Nocturne, attacking his former leader in the process.
It is likely he lost his mutant powers during M-Day
