After shooting his corrupt partner Dennis Harvey in self-defense, Detective Kane of the New Eden Police Department spent six months on suspension before being cleared by Internal Affairs. However, while they might be happy for him to return to duty, the other members of the 39th Precinct, many of whom were Harvey’s friends, make it clear they are less pleased to see him, and only his new partner, newly promoted Detective Kate Felix, is willing to give him a chance.
