When Detective HY Speed is walking home, he is ambushed in an alley by a pair of gangsters who intend to kill the detective. Rang-a-Tang, The Wonder Dog, sees the attack and helps Speed to escape certain death. Detective Speed bonds with the dog, and they become a crack duo of crimefighters.
