Dexter Mungo (Ectokid) is no ordinary teenager. His father was a ghost, and his mother a clairvoyant – he was conceived when his mother succeeded in bringing a ghost into the normal world. As a result of this Dexter has a very strange ability. Through his right eye, he sees the world normally, just like anybody else. But through his left eye, he is able to see a strange parallel dimension known as the Ectosphere. The Ectosphere is a mirror image of the real world, one where the landscape and buildings are covered with a layer of coral-like crust. This dimension is inhabited by all manner of strange creatures: ghosts, imps, succubi, incubi etc.
