Dimwit is a Terrytoons cartoon character who is enemy with Heckle and Jeckle. He first appeared in The Talking Magpies, along with Heckle and Jeckle, as the pet of Farmer Al Falfa. Then, Dimwit appeared in more Heckle and Jeckle shorts like: Uninvited Pests, McDougal’s Rest Farm, Happy Go Lucky, Fishing By The Sea, The Super Salesman, The Hitch Hikers, Out Again, In Again, Free Enterprise, The Stowaways, Hula Hula Land, The Fox Hunt, Merry Chase, Bargain Daze, Mint Men, and Trapeeze, Pleeze. After these cartoons, Jim Tyer decided to make his own short-lived series from that first was How To Keep Cool. Dimwit seems to have a goofy personality and most of the situations will be familiar to anybody who has seen Jack Kinney’s excellent Goofy cartoons from the early 50s.
