Origin
Dobby is a house elf, a small magical servant creature with a playful nature. He has an obsession with making sure the “Boy Who Lived” stays away from trouble. Dobby belonged to the house of Malfoy but was freed when Harry tricked Lucius into giving Dobby a piece of clothing.
