Astrid Skörba was born in Reykjevic, Iceland, and was considered a prodigy and majored in a variety of subjects. Being born with albinism, she was tormented by her peers, which prompted her to build a shell around her emotions. She appeared to be emotionless, but in reality, she felt her heartbreak in solitude. Concentrating on her studies, she mastered Ocean Biology, Zoology and practiced General medicine and became one of the world’s leading scientists in Cryto-zoology.
While kidnapped by Farouk Tariq and rescued by Special Operation team leader Jake Kirby, she found a new home in the undersea facility ‘Oceanus’. It was revealed in confidence that the young girl, Calypso Alexander had exhibited some remarkable abilities due to her exposure to alien radiation produced in an unsanctioned experiment.
Volunteering to monitor the young girl’s transformations, Dr. Skörba became increasingly interested in the field of Crypto-zoology and began to study and become a consultant, if not chronicler of mutations and Ãber-Sapiens.
