Origin
Reginald Phoo was the proud owner of a time-space machine, the TURDIS, which he had disguised as an outdoor lavatory located at the bottom of his garden. While his long suffering wife believed he was out “spending a penny”, Phoo would travel across the universe with his robotic friend WC1, who resembled a mobile toilet, righting wrongs as best he could, armed only with his wits and his scarf, which was made out of lengths of toilet roll.
Creation
Doctor Phoo was a Doctor Who parody that appeared in Marvel UK’s Bog Paper, a short lived title aimed at late teens, where all the strips, as the comic’s title suggests, relied heavily on literal toilet humour.
