Origin

Not much is known about Matilda before she was “adopted” by Dollmaker and became the sister in the Dollmaker’s Family. Once a member Matilda became vital to Dollmaker’s plans and often was by his side with her trade mark, giant sledge hammer which she’d use with great skill and lethality

Creation

Dollhouse was created by Detective Comics writer Tony Daniel under the name “Matilda” and was given the Dollhouse name by Catwoman writer Judd Winick.

Major Story Arcs

Detective Comics: Faces of Death- Dollmaker

Batman tracks Ray Quimby to the Taylor Street Imports abandon warehouse there he is ambushed by the Dollmaker’s Family. During the fight Matilda hits Batman with her sledge hammer and knocks him to the ground. While Batman is thrown for a loop Orifice pins him down. This is when Matilda tells her brother Orifice that their father, the Dollmaker, promised her Batman’s eyes, this was later revealed a lie, by the Dollmaker himself. Batman escapes and the Dollmaker’s Family retreats to the abandon Mercy Hospital, there Matilda begs Dollmaker to let her record the procedure to change a captive James Gordon into one of the Dollmaker’s dolls. Dollmaker agrees but the procedure never happens, due to the Batman. He comes to Gordon’s rescue and Dollmaker and Matilda are forced to escape, leaving the rest of the Family for the Gotham Police.

Catwoman

Matilda returns to Gotham but now calls herself, Dollhouse
