Famed as a master of the blade throughout all of Southern California in the early days of the 19th Century, the man known as Donn Caballero lived on a large hacienda in the small community of Hawk Hill, wielding his legendary sword El Capitan in the cause of justice.
In the course of his career, Caballero battled desert pirates, the apparent ghost of the villainous swordsman El Fuego and the looter called the Jackal, among others.
Though the master swordsman was looked upon as a hero by the people of Hawk Hill, Don Caballero’s true name and the reasons he came to California from his Spanish homeland were never revealed.
