Doris Lee was the love interest and closest confidant/sidekick of Starman/Ted Knight in the 1940s. She was introduced in “Adventure Comics” #61 (April, 1941). According to her retconned history, Lee was murdered by members of organized crime c. 1951. Ted had to recuperate in a mental asylum following her death.
