Dotty was the uber mom of the Dripple family in a newspaper comic strip that started in the 40’s as a rather blatant rip-off⦠was inspired by the older strip Blonde, at times it seemed almost to the point of copyright infringement.Â
At times was hard to tell the different between the two, to the point of the Dripple’s even having a dog whose expressions reflected what was going on with the family.
The Dripples appeared both in a number of Dell 4-colors, as did their teenage daughter Taffy alone, and their own comic for a short while.
The Dripple family however did not have the semi-zaniness of the Bumsteds.
Frankly the Dripples were just plain dull.
