Dr. Reid first appeared in the Batman Beyond story arc, Hush Beyond, as a scientist of Cadmus Labs, directed by Amanda Waller. Throughout the events that evolved during the storyline, with the attacks addressed and identified as those of “Hush”, realizing Waller’s true purposes and overwhelmed by fear, she sought the help of Barbara Gordon. However, before she could get to Gordon, Waller’s chief of security Blaine Emmick tries to stop Dr. Reid from getting to the precinct. Fortunately, Dick Grayson paralyzes Emmick with his own sedatives. Dick escorts Dr. Reid to Gordon where she reveals her true identity and her purpose for joining the Cadmus crew. All she wanted was to research mental illness so she could atone for the shame her grandfather brought into her family.Â
