Using a magical talisman from Darkhawk #23 that was stolen at the end of the issue by a man named Chester. Alex Tennyson offers a price for it but kills Chester after he gets the item. Being a dabbler in the occult, Alex uses the item to summon a being called Dreamkiller which shares his consciousness with Alex while he’s active.
