Dredmund Druid

Origin

Dredmund Cromwell was a scientist studying engineering and chemistry. Cromwell would however also investigate and learn from the occult, specifically learning and educating himself in the magic of ancient Druidism. Learning about elixirs, spells, enchantments and potions Dredmund would apply his science to his mystical knowledge to create new types of weapons and devices. A growing power base and his knowledge in both the Druid arts and science made Dredmund very powerful and he would use a potion to develop hypnotic abilities and soon he begun to attract followers and disciples. Now with his own cult, Dredmund would create a underground headquarters where he could develop even more hybrid weapons. Dredmund would eventually come into conflict with both SHIELD and Captain America and find defeat both times.   

Creation

Dredmund Druid is a Marvel comic book character and was created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Howard Purcell and Mike Esposito. The character first appears in Strange Tales #144 released in 1966. 

Powers and Abilities

Dredmund the Druid possesses mystic knowledge and abilities, rooted in ancient Druidic lore and knowledge. Druid combines his mystical knowledge with that of his scientific knowledge and skills, merging the two sources for a potent synthesis. Dredmund often utilizes alchemy and joint mystic and technological inventions. Dredmund possesses the ability to psychically control and manipulate the minds of people. Dredmund would also make use of elixirs which could boost his strength. Light absorbing technology to appear invisible, and egg shaped devices capable of transporting Dredmund as well as being used as an offensive weapon. These devices were known as Satan’s Eggs.
