Drusilla’s father owned the largest newspaper in their small midwestern town. She was spoiled and became a flighty flirt.

Major Story Arcs

Growing bored of the townee boys, Drusilla is swept off her feet by Jerry Norwood, a guy that falls in love with her and proposes marriage after a very short amount of time. Drusilla is not sure but agrees to marry him anyway. They set the date just a month ahead.

Betty Jones offers to throw Drusilla a party. Drusilla arrives early and finds Jerry and Betty kissing. Jerry explains that he is only marrying Drusilla so that her dad can give him a good job. Drusilla leaves the two but later returns when the party is in full swing. She is congratulated by the attendees but she feels like a fool. She leaves early and bumps into a stranger outside. Despite the fleeting moment together she remembers him. She has second thoughts about the wedding but decides not to tell anyone about what she overheard at Betty’s house. She jilts Jerry at the alter on the day of the wedding. Jerry skips town to avoid the harsh gossip going around.

Three months later, the stranger arrives in town and meets Drusilla. He is Tony Abbott and the two begin dating. After a quick courting Tony proposes. Drusilla is madly in love and agrees. She wants to elope then and there but Tony talks her into have a traditional wedding.

While preparing for her wedding news reaches Drusilla of Jerry’s death. The rumors seem to point to him drinking himself to death following being stood up at the alter. Tony takes Drusilla out for a drive and confronts her about Jerry. She learns that Jerry was Tony’s half brother. She is mortified to hear that Tony was planning on jilting her as she had done to Jerry but he just can’t do it now. Drusilla tries to explain that Jerry never loved her but Tony won’t listen. She drives home alone with a broken heart.

She doesn’t tell anyone the wedding is off and shows up to the church anyways. She walks down the aisle and finds Tony waiting for her. He explains that he found a letter from Betty to Jerry that explained everything.
