On his homeplanet Dworn had powers like Superman, he flew and had super strength. When his planet was about to be destroyed Dwron was sent off in a ship just before it, making him the only survivor. He landed on Earth, which has a stronger gravitation pull than his home planet, and that makes Dworn look like a weakling. He has an ability to turn things to gold, which caught the eyes of some shady people. Superman (still going by the name of Superboy) decided to help Dworn out, as he felt kinship due to similar origin story, and invited him to stay disguised as Alan with the Kents. Dworn started looking for Kryptonite. Once, when captured by some criminals for his gold powers, Superboy came to his help, but the baddies had Kryptonite to stop him. It was then revealed that Kryptonite recharged Dworn, and his powers returned. Thieves defeated, Dworn decided to look for another planet to be hero on, as he felt that two heroes who has opposite side-effects to Kryptonite should not be on the same planet.
