Ecce is a member of The Watchers an eons old, vastly powerful race of extraterrestrials who have pledged an oath not to interfere in the goings on of the universe. Ecce was the Watcher who was present at and “watched” the incubation and hatching of The World Devourer Galactus. Ecce had the abilities to stop the birth of Galactus before he reached full power, but upheld his oath to merely observe and catalog the event.
