Biography:

Eddore was a contemporary and friend of Abin Sur, the legendary predecessor to Hal Jordan.  Eddore would later befriend Jordan and become one of his staunchest allies.  Eddore was from Tront, a world comprised of gaseous life forms.  Eddore itself had no form or gender, as his species resembled a highly advanced amoeba-like being.  Eddore was a member of the strike force which attacked Qward during the war against the Anti-Green Lantern Corps.  Eddore, along with Krista X and Kaylark, was an instrumental player in the “psychodrama” testing perpetrated upon Hal Jordan by the Guardians of the Universe following his battle with the wizard Myrwhydden.  During this drama, it was revealed that Eddore’s greatest fear was to lose his individuality by merging with his fellow gaseous beings on Tront.  Eddore died during the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths.  Eddore was working with Salakk of Slyggia, in his neighboring sector 1418, when the anti-matter cloud swept through the area.  Like many beings during the Crisis, Eddore was killed by the destructive energies unleashed by the Anti-Monitor.  Eddore is memorialized in the Crypts of Oa.

Eddore would recite a unique oath while charging his power ring:

“From lantern comes the gift we give…
to shed light’s grace on all that live!
Power to foil evil with me instill…
my Green Lantern vow to fulfill!”

  

Blackest Night

During the Blackest Night, Eddore was raised by a black power ring along with many other Fallen Lanterns and became a Black Lantern.  His current whereabouts are unknown.
