Eddy Gordo

Origin

An Afro-Brazilian professional fighter, Eddy Gordo enters the King of the Iron Fist tournament to have revenge on Kazuya Mishima, for killing his parents. Eddy Gordo also wishes to use the prize money to aid the treatment of his Capoeira master and Christie Monteiro’s grandfather from an unknown illness. Eddy was from a wealthy family background, but when he was 19 his father was killed seemingly by a gang cartel. Eddy was was arrested and deemed the murderer, he accepted the guilty charge at his fathers dying bequest. In prison Eddy learned Capoeira for 8 years from a Capoeira mestre. Upon release he enters the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. Eventually the man who taught him how to fight is released from prison.

Creation

Eddy Gordo is a fictional character first introduced in the popular fighting video game franchise Tekken. Eddy Gordo first appears in the third installment of the popular fighting game franchise released in 1997. The fighter was created after the producers of Tekken 3 wished to have a Capoeira based fighter, and Eddy was the eventual product of that idea. Initially the character was intended to be female, but development and design problems meant the gender was changed to that of a male. Later on Tekken introduced a female character Christie Monteiro based on these early development designs and ideas. Eddy Gordo is a Namco Bandai character and first appears in Tekken Forever #1.

Powers and Abilities

Eddy is trained in and a master of Capoeira. He is a skilled and world renown fighter, and employs a wide range of powerful kicking attacks and moves.
