El Mikamoto

One of two angels sent to prevent the birth of the AntiChrist. She is far less reserved than her partner, Rie.

Origin

While she appears to be a student at the same school as Princess Lucia’s protagonist Yuta Koizumi, she is actually an angel sent to watch over him, along with her partner Rie. Their main responsibility is to prevent Koizumi from fathering a child with a demon as this would result in the birth of an all-powerful demon. Details of her past are sketchy, but she is known to be thousands of years old.

Creation

El is one of the first primary characters created for the Princess Lucia manga, having appeared in the pilot chapter along with Rie, Lucia & Koizumi.

Personality

Contrasting with her partner Rie’s more considerate and reserved personalty, El’s disposition isn’t exactly what one would expect from an angel. She is quite brash, boorish outspoken and prone to lascivious comments. She is particularly ungracious when dealing with Lucia, as the two frequently argue and El delights in annoying or tormenting the demon princess. She also tends to be quite blasé when it comes to her duties regarding Koizumi, finding monitoring him to be a pain and will sometimes blow it off to do something else. She also has a great enthusiasm for buying unusual anti-demon products from the Angel Drug shop, and testing them out on Lucia.

Despite all of this she is still a devoted and loyal friend, and supports Rie in her decisions, even when they might cause consequences for them later.

She is one of the few female characters in the series to have no romantic feelings towards Yuta.

Appearance

El is a taller than average woman with short blue hair that is quite shaggy on top and curls upwards at the back. She is thin with a particularly well-developed body. She can sprout large, blue bird-like wings but these aren’t visible to normal human beings. El usually wears her school’s uniform which appears to be a combined top & skirt with a yellow scarf, worn with thigh-high tights.

Powers and abilities

El is capable of flight,energy blasts and has superhuman strength and endurance. She may have some other less-well defined powers, as together with Rie she managed to part and hold back the sea.
