Ellison made the bad mistake of trying to blackmail an actor by the name of John Caliban over an elicit affair. This ruined John Caliban’s life. For years John plotted against Ellison and became Mr. Midnight. As Mr. Midnight John plotted Ellison’s demise and was successful in killing Ellison with poison at the exact time of Midnight.
