Emil Ravek

History

Emil Ravek was a killer known as “the Butcher” who was apprehended by Batman and sent to Death Row. When Ravek’s conviction was overturned he began to mentally torture Batman by capturing Robin and then staging events where Batman was unable to stop the murder of Robin. Batman first witnessed a dummy of Robin being shot with arrow. Attached to the dummy was a note reading “How many ways can Robin die?” Batman pursued the kidnapper to a charity carnival where he observed the performance of a magician Chandra the Magnificent. During a death defying sword act, Chandra seemingly killed Robin but Batman again discovered it was a dummy. After a skirmish with Batman, the magician discarded his disguise, escaped and set up two more faux murder scenes where Batman saw a dummy of Robin drowned and then hung. Finally, Batman chased Ravek down the Waxworks Murder Museum, where he managed to save the real Robin and stop Ravek.
