Overview
Erika Itsumi first arrived at Kuromorimine Girls Academy Middle School, where she excelled at tank combat and quickly demonstrated herself as the most proficient first-year student on the school’s senshado team. Much to her dismay, the position of Vice Commander was given to Miho Nishizumiâanother first-year who demonstrated less-than-ideal abilities on the battlefield, but happened to be the younger sister of the overall commander, Maho Nishizumi. Erika challenged Miho to a senshado match in contest for the Vice Commander position, to which both Miho and Maho agreed. Erika emerged victorious, but ultimately turned-down the position of Vice Commander, citing that her victory was attributed to luck and that Miho should retain the position.
Later, Miho would abandon her tank to save a teammate during the senshado finals match against Pravda High School, resulting in Kuromorimine losing what would have been their tenth championship win. As a result of her actions, Miho was forced to transfer to Ooari Girls Academy, leaving the position of Vice Commander open for Erika to take-on, which she did.
