Evil Eye

Captain Schmidt AKA the Evil Eye was a “mad scientist” part of the nazi machinery in World War two. Most of his inventions were made to stop the metahumans active in the USA, specially the General Glory, an agent of the Army. Most of his inventions and machinations were stopped by the General and his destruction became an obssession for Schmidt. His most notable creation were the Überbots.

After the end of the war, he was arrested and convicted. However, a new chance was offered to him by Director Newkirk Sharp, who in exchange of his collaboration was offered the chance of freedom. Schmidt don’t thought too long about it and accepted the offer.

After years of working together, Schmidt and Sharp developted a friendship, meeting frecuently. In one of those reunions, SHarp revealed than he betrayed General Glory, Schimidt archenemy and had disposed of him, after framing him with a crime the General didn’t commited, in a destiny worse than death. This enraged Schmidt, who felt his obsession burn again. Decided to destroy his enemy, Schmidt left everything behind and started an endless search for Glory for decades.

Schmidt finally found the General, but at advanced age. Both, he and his enemy had grow old and fallible. His inventions had become into pathetic devices backfired and his plans to destroy Glory always failed because he has incompetent. Glory was slowly and doggedly pursued by Schmidt, who tended to show up and demolish whatever building Glory was in at the time.

When the General resurfaced again with his powers reinstaurated, Schmidt decided to go with more radical measures, including activate his old Überbots and reactivate his old vehicle, the Evil Eye orb. The strain to maneuver the Evil Eve was to much to Schmidt old body and he died when his vehicle was defeated by the General and the Justice League. With his last breath, Schmidt revealed the role of Sharp in the defamation of the General. Ironically, with his last action, he saved the reputation of his hated enemy.
