Excalibur

Origin

Born in the Void and was said to be the first Warframe made by the ancient civilization Orokin. After their defeat by the Sentients during the Old War, the Orokin needed to create something that could adapt and challenge the opposing threat. In desperation of creating the ultimate weapon, they were forced to dig deep into the forbidden understanding of the Infestation. Ballas, a former Orokin executor began his research and experiments on the Infestation in hopes of finding new answers. Ultimately, this led to the creation of the Warframe Excalibur.

Creation

Excalibur was created by Digital Extremes. The idea for his design came from a prototype armor worn by the protagonist Hayden Tenno from the video game Dark Sector, which was one of Digital Extreme’s previous titles. The character’s name was influenced by the legendary sword of King Arthur.

Major Story Arcs

WARFRAME: Ghouls

After the arrival of Captain Vor and his Grineer army in Ostron village, they were having problems finding artifacts left in the area. The Ostrons stood up against the opposing threat, but were quickly executed one by one and their homes and settlement were destroyed. After the slaughter, Excalibur noticed and arrived to fend off the opposing threat nearly forcing them to retreat. But instead of continuing the fight, he chose to save an Ostron child from danger instead. Following the rescue, he looked after the child and made sure it was out of harm’s way. Later, he went on to fight the Grineer and the Ghouls but was eventually overwhelmed and prompted the Lotus to seek assistance from the fellow Tenno, Mag.

Later, upon his rescue by the Lotus, he joined the Ostron girl, Mag and Little Duck against the Grineer and the Infested. He ended up defeating and locking up Captain Vor in the Orokin vessel forever. After the battle was over, Lotus told Excalibur and Mag that she would reward both their valor with rest. However, across the system, chaos was still spreading. Excalibur and Mag look at their own orbiter. They jump in and fly away.
