Creation
Mei Terumi (????, Terumi Mei) is a supporting character of the Naruto series that was created by Masashi Kishimoto, It first began serialization Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in November 1999. She was first introduced during the Five Kage Summit Arc, which began in Volume 48.
She first appeared in Naruto Volume 49, CH. 454 “Enter the Five Kage…!!”.

Major Story Arcs
Five Kage Summit Arc
Mei went to attend the summit of the five Kages in the Land of Iron to discuss the issues revolving around the recent attacks of the Akatsuki. Ao and Ch?j?r? acted as security along the journey. During the summit, Mei did her best to fend off accusations that the Akatsuki was born from her village and they had manipulated the previous Mizikage. Just as Mifune was choosing the leader of their newly formed alliance, the summit was attacked by members of the Akatsuki that included Sasuke Uchiha. Mei ordered Ao to follow the escaping Danzo Shimura, and she nearly managed to kill Sasuke with her unique jutsu, but he was saved by Madara Uchiha. He was there to declare war on their nations to claim the remaining Jinch?riki, Naruto Uzumaki and Killer Bee.
Confining the Jinch?riki Arc
The Kages gathered together again days later after the summit to discuss their tactics at Kumogakure. When information of the Jinch?riki’s location was leaked, Mei suggested that the enemy wouldn’t send a large force. When Onoki returned with the Jinch?riki, they once again worked on their war plan.
Fourth Shinobi World War Arc
As the war broke out, Mei, along with Ch?j?r? and others, guarded the location of the Daimy? of the various countries. She thwarted the attacks of the White Zetsu Army and the Black Zetsu. They were later aided by a Shadow Clone of Naruto. Mei was later warned that the real Madara Uchiha had appeared on the battlefield. Ch?j?r? took over her battle while Mei was teleported with the other Kages to face Madara.
Ten-Tails Revival Arc
Mei and the other Kage were saved from their injuries by Tsunade’s summoning Katsuyu. After she was aided by Orochimaru, Tsunade was then able to fully heal Mei and the others. They then traveled to the front lines to help stop the rampage of the Ten-Tails.
Powers & Abilities
Mei possesses an affinity for Earth, Fire, and Water, which gives her two Bloodline Limits: Lava and Boil. She has thus far used two jutsus, Melting Apparition allowing her to spit large globs of lava, and Boil allowed her to use Skilled Mist which created an acidic fog.

Naruto Shippuden (2007)
The Naruto Shippuden anime series is the second direct adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto’s original manga. This series is produced by Studio Pierrot and first began airing in February 15, 2007. Mei’s first appearance in this series is in Naruto Shippuden Episode 199 “Enter the Five Kage!”, which aired on February 17, 2011. Her character in the Japanese series is voiced by Yurika Hino, and the U.S. dub produced by VIZ Media is done by Debi Mae West.
