Jack Casey was a photographer for the Morning Express who somehow managed to solve as many crimes as he photographed, perhaps even more. He did this with the aid of reporter Ann Williams.
Creators
Jack “Flashgun” Casey was introduced in the pages of Black Mask Magazine in 1934 in a story by George Harmon Coxe.
Noted as being the first character in the sub-genre known as Hard-Boiled Detective fiction Casey would get the full pop culture treatment appearing in short stories, novels, a radio series, television series, films and even a stage play.
He would also appear in a four issue comic book series published by Atlas (Marvel) in the late 40’s.
