Origin
Flying Buttress was one of the dark gods of the city of Machupolytechulan. She and her fellow gods were banished from Earth by the Magi of the Zone, magical enforcers from an alternate dimension.
Creation
Flying Buttress was created by Keith Giffen, Tom Bierbaum, and Mary Bierbaum. She made her first appearance in The Heckler #5.
Major Story Arcs
The Heckler
Flying Buttress is summoned by the Four Mopeds of the Apocalypse, and begins eating as much of Delta City as she can reach. She is infiltrated by the Heckler who is disguised as an antacid. He is able to travel to her centre and cause an explosion which completely destroys her.
Powers and Abilities
Flying Buttress is a god. She is capable of flying under her own power, and is also composed entirely of digestive tract. She is massive, and contains within her at least one small city, that of colonial Delta.
