Francesca Fisher was an archaeology professor who worked with young rookies Reed Richards and Alyssa Moy in locating the Claw of Bast. She was soon abducted by Ko-Gar, an agent of Doctor Doom who wanted the magical artifact for himself. Reed and Alyssa rescued her and the trio continued their search. Doom followed them and assembled the Claw from its pieces, unwittingly awakening the spirith of Khafre. The ancient Pharaoh was aparently its previous user. Francesca used an old spell to drain the spirit’s energy into the Claw. The trio later used the energy to heal Roderick Van Nuys, an old mentor who suffered from muscular degeneration. They then destroyed the Claw.
