Franklin Stern was the owner and publisher of the Daily Planet. He’s a longtime friend of Perry White and dated the sister of Ron Troupe.

Franklin Stern only appeard in the episode 9×19 “Charade” and was the temporary editor in chief of the Daily Planet. After some troublet at an event, he fired both, Lois Lane and Clark Kent. After Perry White talked to him, he re-hire Lois and Clark.
He wasn’t seen on-screen after the episode “Charade” but was mentioned a few times during Smallville: Season Eleven.
