Fred Astaire (1899 – 1987) was a dancer, choreographer, singer and actor with both theatrical and film appearances. His film career lasted from 1933 to 1981. He is considered among the most prominent male leads in films. While having several female co-stars, Astaire is mostly associated with Ginger Rogers. The two co-starred in ten films.
