Origin
Edwald Olafsson was an elder of his clan in 10th century Greenland. He was a metahuman with cryokinesis abilities, but his community’s primitive understanding led them to the belief that he was the personification of winter. Edwald was able to use his abilities to their advantage at first, but he quickly lost control. Winter was unrelenting, so the community turned on him, trying to kill him and his family. To protect them, he unleashed the full force of his abilities, but it couldn’t save his child, killed by a neighbor’s arrow.
