Gabriel Drum is a major and crew member of the Clarke. He is part of the away mission to make first contact with the aliens, traveling to their asteroid. He dies battling the aliens while providing a means for his fellow crew members an escape. It is later revealed when Charlotte Hayden gives birth to Astra, that he was the father.
