Origin
General Brushov first appeared in China as the host of the People’s Liberation Army’s Colonel Ling. The Soviet General planned on luring Captain America to Asia so he could be defeated by The Red Guardian. However Hawkeye and Hercules attacked their base in order to rescue The Black Widow and the Communists were eventually defeated by The Avengers.

General Brushov was created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema in 1967.
