Gladstone is found by Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd. They decide to raise the alligator for leather. Gladstone is kept in Grampaw Snerd‘s bath, but is quickly kicked out. The boys end up using the alligator to help them start a business in beating rugs.
