Gleek

Origin

Gleek is a blue monkeyfrom the planet Exxor. He has demonstrated the ability to stretch his prehensile tail to several meters. Gleek cannot speak often making a variety of monkey noises but he can understan all verbal commands spoken in english. He also appears to be smarter than the average Earth monkey. Gleek was originally the property of a clown in an interplanetary carnival where the Wonder Twins were raised. Gleek followed Zan and Jayna when they ran away to Earth.

Super Friends

Gleek originally appeared on the animated series Super Friends. Gleek was the pet of the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna and was often used for comic relief. His first appearance was on The All New Superfriends Hour, which first aired on September 10, 1977.Gleek was voiced by Michael Bell.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold

Gleek makes an appearance in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode “The Siege of Starro, Part Two”. In the episode Gleek is seen as a stuffed animal in the Faceless Hunter’s trophy room.

Smallville

In Smallville’s ninth season in an episode titled “Idol” Gleek appears as a decoration on Jayna’s cellphone.

Capstone Kids

Gleek appears in Capstone Kids line of of chapter books staring the DC Super-Pets.

Action Figure

In 2009 Mattel made a Gleek action figure as a SDCC exclusive gift for anyone who purchased the Wonder Twins action figures box set. Since then Gleek has become a very sought after figure for collectors of the DC Universe Classics line.

Heroclix

Gleek received a limited edition Heroclix figure in DC 75th anniversary line.
