Grizzly Bearhug

Origin

Grizzly Bearhug was a giant who lived in a castle in the clowds, and played a game of cat and mouse with the Short family, who had unintentionally strayed into his home and now wanted to avoid becoming his next meal.

Creation

Grizzly Bearhug debuted in the first issue of Monster Fun, and was the title star of the strip “Grizzly Bearhug…Giant.”

Character Development

Grizzly Bearhug lived in a castle riding on the clouds, and, like all normal giants, enjoyed the prospect of chowing down on humans unfortunate enough to enter his domain. Thus when the holidaying Short family inadvertently let some magic beans be buried under their caravan, were sent skyward atop the resulting beanstalk, and literally rolled into his house once the stalk finishing growing, Grizzly looked forward a quick snack. The Shorts felt otherwise, and so began a contest of wits between humans and giant.
