Growing Paynes appeared in the pages of The Dandy. The strip involved young Percy Payne who would try and act grown up but would usually revert to his young ways, such as crying and throwing a tantrum, to get what he wanted. He has an older brother, Peter, who would often end up in trouble from their parents through Percy’s manipulation.
