Gruning is a German who uses whips in combat. Initially he used normal ones, but later switched to electrified ones. He seems the most loyal to the Red Skull and may very well have served under the fellow German before.

Gruning was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1968 and first appeared in Captain America #103.
