Origin
Gunther’s grandfather Hjolren led the Dwarves from Nildavellir to Earth over a thousand years ago. Gunther was born on Earth and at some point, settled in White Ash with the rest of the Dwarves looking for a way home. He had a human wife, whose demise is still a mystery and a son, Aleck Zwerg, whom he hid that fact that he was half dwarf. Gunther earned the respect of his fellow dwarves and lead most of the mining actives in White Ash.

The day has come for Aleck to leave White Ash for collage, and Gunther barely wishes him goodbye as he heads to work in the mine. While underground, Gunther gets a bad feeling and sends everyone topside, while he investigates farther down. There he comes across Seth Jones, a brood, who bites Gunther and escapes. Gunther believes to have won the fight but then sees the explosives that Seth had placed. They blow up and severally injure Gunther.
Gunther is rushed to the hospital where he is put into a coma for his own good. Days later, he comes out of the coma due to the anti-venom that Aleck finds for the brood bite. Gunther is able to hug his son explain he is sorry for hiding the truth and tries to warn him of something else but suddenly dies. It is unclear if his brother Orman has something to due to his death, because Aleck got the anti-venom for him or because it was too little too late.
