Hattie has numerous psychological problems including imagining a phantom pregnancy. Her mutant power kicked in and the phantom pregnancy became a real one, leading to the birth of her “son” Campbell Saint-Ange. Despite not being real, Hattie cared for Campbell and brought him up as his mother.
