He Who Remains is the would-be educator of the next universe, who lives at the Citadel at the End of Time. He witnessed the birth of the last universe’s survivors, the Time Twisters, who tried to destroy every era in time.
Thor, The Warriors Three, and Jane Foster had traveled forward in time to stop the Time Twisters, but were hindered by He. After Jane Foster informed He Who Remains about their destructive and flawed nature, he erased them from the timeline and created the Time-Keepers.

Loki
In the series Loki, He Who Remains is replaced with the primary version of Kang and appears in the final episode of the show’s first season. He is killed by Sylvie and his death results in a multiversal crisis which enables the formation of the Council of Kangs.
