Hellbat, whose real name is Carlos (Varney coined the name “Hellbat”) is a young man from Brazil.
He used to be human, until an experiment conducted by his father went wrong and he was transformed into a half-man/half-bat creature.
After being shunned by society, Carlos went to live in isolation in the Brazilian wilderness. He was soon approached by Varney the Vampire, who convinced him to come to Transylvania and joint the Ghoul Squad.
Hellbat is very smart and he has a great interest in science.
Even though Varney sees Hellbat as a “ferocious beast,” Hellbat is actually quite shy.
