Origin
Henrietta Hunter was a Europan pop star with the mutant ability of empathy. Dreaming of being a superstar and celebrity since she was a little girl, Henrietta went on to become Europa’s biggest star, though pop music, however she was assassinated, when tampering with her microphone electrocuted her. Some time at a later point she resurrected. The mutant team X-Statix intervened and saved her from Europa government agents who wished her to stay dead. After joining the X-Statix team, she apparently died two more times before remaining dead. After her death, her record label put out a song Back from the Dead, that killed anyone who sang it aloud. The X-Statix member El Guapo was killed this way, impaled on his very own skateboard. To test the theory of the song, the X-Statix had Dead Girl, who is already dead, sing the song aloud. When she did, she was instantly destroyed proving the theory true. While she was reforming, she saw the corpse of Henrietta Hunter. When Dead Girl asked Henrietta about the song, she responded, saying that the song was her own way of getting revenge on those who wanted her dead. X-Statix arranged for the President of Europa to sing the song, allowing Henrietta to get her true revenge.
Creation
Henrietta Hunter is a Marvel comics character, and she was created by writer Peter Milligan and artist Mike Allred and she first appeared in X-Statix #13 released in 2003. The character who became Henrietta Hunter was originallty intended to be the late Princess Diana resurrected back from the dead. The story arc were to have been, Di Another Day. A senior editor at Marvel vetoed the idea, story information was leaked to the press and the resulting negatively publicity also a factor in the writers to quickly change her to a new character, a pop diva from the fictional nation of “Europa”.
Henrietta Hunter still bares an uncanny resemblance to the late Princess of Wales, save that her hair color and style has been changed and her name and reasons for celebrity within the narrative have changed.
Note: Originally, Henrietta Hunter was supposed to be the revived British princess Diana, but due to much criticism (even from the Royal family itself), Marvel changed the character to a fictional character instead.
Powers and Abilities
A mutant, Henrietta Hunter possessed the power of empathy. She was adept at sensing and reading the feelings and emotions of others. After her first resurrection, Henrietta seemed to have the ability to sense and communicate with the dead or spirits.
