Henry Hayes

Origin

Henry Hayes was a young Afro-American whom became a combat-medic in the U.S. Army and a doctor for Doctors Without Borders. While in America, Henry had a wife or at least a companion whom gave birth to his daughter, Aria. She however soon vanished and left Henry to take care of his daughter all by himself. During his time in conflict regions, Henry was gravely injured and, unbeknownst to him, altered and enhanced by a company named Biotek, whom put machines inside him. While Henry resumed his work as a force for good, it seemed that some persons wanted to use Henry only for destruction and pain.

Creation

Henry Hayes was created by Nathan Edmondson and Mike Perkins and first appeared in Original Sins issue 1 (2014). Some fans thought Henry Hayes was inspired by Michael Peterson from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD tv-series. According to Tom Brevoort, the series was indeed planned in reaction to the tv-series, but ended up with a new character named Henry Hayes, whom is indeed close in some aspects to Michael Peterson.
