In 2.025 B.C. Hetepkheti Tefnakhte was a mad priest of an Anubis religious cult. Transformed into a mummy he was renamed Khalis. He obtained the Amulet of Anubis from Anubis himself. He controlled a legion of Nubian slaves laboring during years to build the mightiest of pyramids, a temple in homage to Anubis.
In 1st Issue Special #9 – The Immortal Destiny Khalis is rised from a egyptian excavation from Boston Museum of Egyptology. He killed Professor Anderson (curator) and Dr. Magill, a distinguished guest. He fought Dr. Fate.
His powers came from the same amulet who posses Dr. Fate, the Amulet of Anubis (called Amulet of Nabu too).
