Origin
The High Priest lives aboard The Vine mother ship where he looks after Shanhara (X-O Manowar armor). Aric of Dacia and Gafti, who were enslaved aboard the ship, broke into the armory and when Shanhara chose Aric as worthy, the High Priest bowed to him. The High Priest is constantly trying to persuade The Vine Council to save the armor rather than destroy it.
Creation
The High Priest was created by writer Robert Venditti and artist Cary Nord. He first appeared in the story “Blades and Open Fields” in X-O Manowar #1 (May 2012).
Major Story Arcs
Planet Death
When Aric arrives on Loam to destroy The Vine, the High Priest shows him there are still Visigoths alive and enslaved on the planet. The High Priest also shows Aric that like him, there are other members of The Vine who believe Aric is their saviour. True to his belief, Aric does rescue The Vine from the oppressive rule of the High Council and the High Priest is left to rule Loam.
