Horatio Caine is the Lieutenant for the Crime Scene Investigation squad for Miami, Florida. With no direct “powers”, Horatio instead is equipped with sharp intillect and passion for duty. Caine’s passion and protectiveness is said to have developed over the period of his life where he had lost family members. His brother Raymond Caine and Mother were both murdered at different points in his life. These events lead Horatio to at times be over-protective of those investigated.Â
